About MASP

Governance

The governance of MASP is a coordinated and collaborative effort of statewide stakeholders, including:

  • Legislatively appointed co-chairs
  • MASP Steering Committee
  • MASP Executive Committee
  • MASP committees

Co-Chairs

MASP Steering Committee

Meets quarterly and includes representation of state-level community based organizations, providers, policy makers, crime and violence prevention agencies, advocacy, education and youth-serving organizations. Steering Committee members advise and support MASP staff and partners in advancing the strategic priorities and goals of the Partnership.

MASP Executive Committee

Elected officers and committee chairs convene monthly to oversee the implementation of the work of the Partnership between Steering Committee quarterly meetings.

MASP Committees

  • Policy/Funding and Advocacy
    • Coordinates efforts to align and inform policies supporting after-school
    • Advocates for increased private and public funding streams
  • Communication
    • Builds and increases public awareness, engagement and support
  • Quality
    • Supports a state-wide professional development system for after-school programs
    • Provides information on promising practices, assessment and evaluation resources to ensure high quality programs
    • Strengthens the delivery of after-school services addressing the obesity and health crisis facing Michigan youth
  • Model Communities and Capacity Building
    • Strengthens state-regional-county-city partnerships and local collaborations centered around after-school issues
