As we speak, the Michigan Legislature is determining how we will
distribute tax dollars – what will we invest in, and what we leave out
of those investments. We are the ones who can help them.
Policymakers need our expertise and guidance to make sure that they
have all of the information they need to make good policy choices.

Working in the field of diversity and inclusion for the past ten years

The Michigan After-School Partnership (MASP) is supportive of Gov.
Snyder’s message, delivered earlier today, on the need to improve talent
in the state. A recent initiative facilitated by MASP directly
addresses the issue, noted by the Governor, that Michigan has too few
students graduating in the engineering and mathematic fields.

A new assessment of states’ progress toward offering afterschool programs to all children who need them finds that Michigan is making real progress, but has more work to do to fully meet the need. Michigan was one of just nine states to earn a 4 on a scale of 1 to 5 in the new report.
