Serving Healthy Meals for Kids in the Out-of-School Space
Michigan Department of Education administers federal funds though the US Department of Agriculture to help programs in Michigan provide healthy meals to kids in the expanded learning space. The two major sources of funding are the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Both have separate meal requirements and reimbursement rates, but the results are the same: healthy meals for kids.
