GM Launches New Education Series - ‘Electrifying Engineering’ - for Kids, 7-13

The first three videos in the series are available now on the General Motors YouTube Electrifying Engineering playlist: How to build an electric motor; How to measure air quality near your home; and How autonomous vehicles see the road. The videos are hosted GM employees and their children. Each Sunday, from now through July, a new video will be uploaded to the General Motors YouTube playlist that walks through a different aspect of Electric Vehicles (EVs) – from their battery to design to how they will help enable autonomous vehicles. As each video is posted to the YouTube playlist, you’ll also find an attachment in the description section summarizing the instructions for the activity. Lessons, Scavenger Hunts, Story Hours Virtually from Chippewa Nature Center

The Chippewa Nature Center in Midland has been developing a number of resources for children and families to support them as they spend time outdoors. Resources can be found here. Lessons and scavenger hunts are being added weekly. Lessons relate to grade level standards. Find event links here.

In response to school closures, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources has assembled on a new webpage with fun and educational activities aimed at history and the outdoors. You’ll find videos, links to virtual tours, books, lessons and websites giving kids and their caregivers plenty to do.
