Planning and Reflection

This workshop offers practical, engaging tools for helping young people participate in the Plan-Do-Reflect learning process. Participants will explore ways to create clear plans before an activity and guide meaningful reflection on both the process and results afterward.


Understanding MiRegistry: What Every Program Administrator Should Know

Program administrators will hear directly from the MiRegistry team about key tools, requirements, and opportunities. Topics include Organization Profiles, Training Sponsor Organizations, child care licensing rules, Career Pathways, and Career Exploration. Technical assistance will be available after the presentation, and MiRegistry training credit is offered.


Engage to Empower: Building Active Learners Through Ask, Listen, and Encourage

This training helps OST staff strengthen youth engagement through intentional communication practices. Participants will explore how open-ended questions, active listening, and meaningful encouragement can spark curiosity, affirm youth voice, and support confidence, autonomy, and growth.


OST Literacy Training – Site Managers/Program Directors

Site managers, program directors, and OST leaders will explore practical strategies for strengthening reading support across programs. This free, interactive training covers quality literature, engaging text discussions, and 5-minute vocabulary routines that can be incorporated into programming right away.


Youth Voice

June 25 | 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. | VIRTUAL

This workshop guides OST staff in creating meaningful opportunities for young people to share ideas, make choices, and build leadership. With intentional support and scaffolding over time, youth can grow in responsible decision-making and take a more active role in shaping their experiences.


OST Literacy Training – Frontline Staff

June 25 | 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. | VIRTUAL

Frontline OST staff and leaders will leave this free, interactive literacy training with concrete strategies they can use right away. Participants will learn how to incorporate quality literature, lead engaging text discussions, and use 5-minute vocabulary routines to support youth reading skills.


Reframing Conflict

June 26 | 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. | VIRTUAL

This workshop introduces a six-step, youth-centered approach to resolving conflicts in youth settings. Participants will explore a nonthreatening problem-solving process that helps reframe conflict as an opportunity for learning, repair, reflection, and growth.
