Looking Back at the 2025 Afterschool Day at the Capitol

Thank you for making Afterschool Day at the Capitol 2025 a tremendous success!

We were proud to welcome more than 400 participants—including youth, parents, and youth development advocates—from across the state to the Michigan Capitol for a powerful day of connection, celebration, and advocacy.

Throughout the day, participants engaged in youth skill-building activities, met with legislators to share the impact of afterschool programs, toured the Capitol, and celebrated leaders who champion expanded learning opportunities for Michigan youth.

Special thanks to Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II, Representative Timmy Beson, and Senator Darrin Camilleri for joining us and being recognized as Legislative Out-Of-School Time Champions on the Capitol steps.
